There is absolutely nothing wrong with being passionate. I would agree with a desk job. I just hesitate to say I want the OHP to handle the situation because they put him out there and set him up to fail to begin with.

You have a very good point. The transition to civilian life from the all to over powering life of war is a very difficult transition to make. The fault really lies with the command of that police officer, both on the military side and the police department side. About 90% of the MP's I served with were also civilian law enforcement. They all went under evaluations upon returning home. I know many that had their weapons taken away from them and given desk jobs until they were able to perform their duties as an officer of the law without the mentality of the war. In my opinion his command has failed him and set him up for failure. PTSD (which I'm making an educated assumption) is a very difficult thing to overcome, and almost impossible to do alone.

I don't think he should resign, I don't think he should be forced to resign. I think the Police Department should handle the situation according to their policies and regulations and then send him to help. Put him behind a desk until he has somewhat overcome the horror of the war and is capable of performing his duties as required.

Just my thoughts. As you are probably figuring out, I'm very passionate about this subject. :)
